MBS prices are up +7/32. Jobless Claims came in a little higher than expected, while Personal Income was close to the consensus.

Unchanged at 5.09% on Sep.30

10 Year Treasury currently 2.930% Down -0.38%

DJI Stocks $9,598.54,  Down -113.74, -1.17%

European and Asian Markets Down -1.094%

Nymex Crude Oil currently $70.61 Down $0.00

This morning's weak stock market helped MBS markets. The four-week average dropped to 548K and Weekly Jobless Claims rose to 551K, above the consensus forecast of 535K.

August Personal Income rose 0.2% and Spending jumped 1.3%, close to expectations. The Cash for Clunkers program boosted spending. Core PCE annual inflation rate rose a docile 1.3%.

ISM Manufacturing, Construction Spending, and Pending Home Sales will be released this morning at 10:00 ET. In addition, the Treasury will announce the size of upcoming Treasury auctions at 11:00 AM ET. Fed Chief Bernanke is testifying about financial regulation.

European and Asian Markets Down -0.889%

Nymex Crude Oil currently $69.92 Down $2.46

MBS prices are down -3/32. Personal Income and Core PCE came in very close to expectations and had little immediate impact..

Down 0.01% at 5.19% on Aug.27

Fannie Mae Mortgage Backed Securities
MBS Opened at 4.907% Up 0.071%.

10 Year Treasury currently 3.50% Up 0.03%

DJI stocks 9,555.69, Down -24.94, -0.26%

European and Asian Markets Up 1.027%

Nymex Crude Oil currently $72.48 Up $0.20

This morning, July Personal Income remained unchanged from June, which was very close to the consensus forecast. The July Core PCE price index, the Fed's favored inflation measure, matched expectations with an increase at a 1.4% annual rate, down from 1.5% last month.

Once again, the data showed that inflation is not a concern right now. Consumer Sentiment will be released at 10:00 et. Volume is likely to be very light today, which may lead to increased volatility.
